I have often compared websites to signs.
When you put up a sign in front of your business, it lets everyone driving down the street know who you are and what you do. This is great for business!
When you put up a website, it also lets people know who you are and what you do. The question is who does is let know? Just having a website is like putting a sign in the middle of nowhere – nobody sees it. Your sign (and website) need traffic.
Since you cannot exactly put up your website next to the freeway, we do the next best thing. We can make sure that anyone searching for your product finds you, and we can place ads for people to learn about you without knowing to search for you.
Don’t just build your sign in the middle of nowhere and leave it.

Just like images, I would recommend a maximum width of 520px (max width allowed by Facebook) for a tab.

After uploading your video, you want to use this code:

<fb:swf swfbgcolor=”000000” imgstyle=”border-width:##px; border-color:white;” swfsrc=”http://www.youtube.com/v/xxxxx” imgsrc=”[paste image source here]” width=”520″ height=”520″ />

A few things to remember:

Replace the xxxxx with your YouTube’s video ID. In both examples below, “myLPY-9Gtlw” is the video’s YouTube ID.

Copy the full URL for your image including the http:// (I prefer to host images myself but you can use image sites like flickr and photobucket)

Video height can be adjusted as needed. I would not increase the height larger than the width of the video

Where to find your YouTube video ID?

Full URL of Video page: The YouTube link would be: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myLPY-9Gtlw, everything after the “=” is the YouTube ID.

Embed Code: The embed code is a little different and looks similar to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myLPY-9Gtlw&feature=player_embedded, you want the characters after the “=” but before the “&feature” those are your YouTube ID.

Other values you can change to your preferences:

swfbgcolor

imgstyle

imgsrc is a bit more complicated because it is just a preview image. When the preview image is click the video starts playing and the image is hidden from view. To see a real-life example, you can go to the Digital Dragon Direct Page ( screen shot below). In order to change the preview image, simply replace the URL to a direct link to one of your images from what ever source you are getting it.

Tip: You must use proper html so make sure all your tags and quotes used are a complete set of open and closed ones.

Example of an embedded video with a clickable image
